Ancillary Businesses
Support U.S. Healthcare Providers In Their Quality Improvement Initiatives.

Get paid in a stable, tax-advantaged form of value for the goods and services healthcare needs — and put it to work across a growing network of vetted buyers.
The Bolton-Strid Network connects healthcare organizations with the vendors and suppliers who equip, support, and sustain them — and with the businesses that supply those vendors, in turn. If your business provides goods, services, or infrastructure to the healthcare sector, or to the companies that do, you may be able to join as a Network vendor and start earning NMD™ units as payment.
Who Qualifies
We work with legitimately registered, licensed businesses that supply goods, services, or infrastructure either directly to healthcare organizations, or to other businesses that do. This includes, among others:
- Fleet and vehicle providers
- Internet and telecommunications (ISP) providers
- Electronic health record (EHR) and health IT companies
- Medical technology and equipment manufacturers
- Business technology and software providers
- Staffing and workforce agencies
- Real estate and facilities providers
- Utility providers
- Construction and infrastructure contractors
- Other businesses supplying goods or services to healthcare organizations or their vendors
Don’t see your industry listed? If your business supplies something healthcare organizations or their vendors rely on, apply anyway — this list isn’t exhaustive, and our accreditation review will let you know if you qualify. If you believe your field belongs here and want to check first, email us at [partnerships@bolton-strid.org].
How It Works
1. Apply and get accredited. Submit your business information so we can verify you’re a legitimately operating business supplying the healthcare sector or its vendors.
2. Sell as you normally would. Price your goods or services in U.S. dollars, exactly as you do today.
3. Get paid in NMD™ units. When a healthcare organization or another Network vendor purchases from you, you’re paid in NMD™ units — priced at the current, published value, so there’s no negotiation or guesswork involved.
4. Use your units, however you choose. Recirculate units to pay your own suppliers within the Network, hold them for near-term qualifying purchases, or explore converting units to cash through an independent third-party liquidity provider.
What This Is — and Isn’t
Participating as a Network vendor means accepting NMD™ units as payment for real goods and services you provide — it is not an investment, and holding units does not represent equity, ownership, or a governance stake in the Foundation or Corp. Units are priced by a transparent, independently calculated index tied to U.S. physician economic output, not by market trading, so the value you’re paid doesn’t fluctuate the way a speculative asset would.
Units you receive are generally treated as ordinary income for tax purposes. Many vendors find that reinvesting units into their own qualifying business equipment in the same tax year can offset much of that impact through standard depreciation rules — we encourage you to talk to your tax advisor about what makes sense for your business.
Why Vendors Join
- Access to a network of vetted, funded buyers — healthcare organizations transacting on the Network have received their purchasing power specifically to spend on qualifying equipment and services, so you’re selling into real, documented demand.
- Guaranteed settlement — no chasing invoices or absorbing credit risk from financially distressed buyers.
- Flexibility — recirculate units to your own vendors, or explore cash conversion through an independent liquidity provider, on your own timeline.
Getting Started
There’s no cost to apply. If your business helps keep healthcare running — from the vehicles on the road to the systems behind the scenes — we want you at the table.
